About the role

Freelance Writer – Investments
  • New York or Remote in US or Canada
Finder is looking for an experienced financial news and investments writer to help build, expand and improve content within our investments vertical that includes share trading, forex, stocks and funds, IPOs, ETFs and derivatives.

You’ll be responsible for quick-turn news pieces that rank with Google and aggregator news apps. You’ll also write reviews and guides that successfully meet our detailed briefs that include the research, keywords and outlines you need to hit the ground running. We may even ask you to star in videos, depending on your expertise.

This is a contract role requiring at least 20 and as many as 30 hours weekly. You’ll work alongside a close-knit, collaborative team that’s available to provide the guidance and support you need to succeed.

Only candidates residing in – and with full work rights in – the US or Canada will be considered.

Who you are
You’ve got a passion for the turbulent world of investments — and you’ve got the bylines to show it. You have experience writing financial news that delivers the context of financial topics for consumers. Versed in the nuances of the market, you’ve got insights to share into investment products and wealth management and at least a rudimentary understanding of regulatory compliance.
Overall, you have a proven knack for translating complex personal finance concepts and topics into conversational articles that engage readers and meet them where they are when considering a decision. Experience writing for organic search and managing money are a plus, though not required.
Freelancers based in New York City have the option of working from our office in midtown when we reopen in 2021.
