Job Description
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
  • Reports to: Director of Content
  • Compensation: $15/hour to start
  • Hours per week: 30+ hours
  • Job Type: Independent contractor
  • Start Date: Immediately

JOB DUTIES 
Social Media Coordination
  • Write engaging social media post copy in on-brand voice/tone in a deadline-driven environment
  • Read/watch company content (articles, videos, etc.) and create relevant social media posts based on the content
  • Schedule all social media content to publish using Hootsuite (or YouTube, as applicable) and manually, when needed
  • Stay on top of social media trends via research and assigned book readings
  • Analyze data, strategize appropriately and pivot when necessary with the approval of the director of content
  • Work well with graphic designer and other team members
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions to
EXPERIENCE
  • 1+ year(s) experience in a social media role
  • Degree in social media marketing or related discipline
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong social media knowledge (trends, strategies, etc.)
  • Work well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and knowledge of the 80/20 rule
  • Creativity, tech savvy, and ability to learn new programs and systems quickly
  • Adeptness at the following software/programs Google Suite, Hootsuite, Slack, Trello, Canva
  • Possess knowledge of and experience with the following social media platforms: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok
  • Strong teamwork skills are a MUST
  • Ability to read and listen to content and write relevant, engaging social media copy about the content
  • Familiarity with (or able to learn quickly): Slack, Trello, Google Suite and Canva
  • Strong grammar, as well as written and verbal communication (English language)
  • Basic SEO knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to follow SOPs and instructions
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • High accuracy and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work remotely and maintain efficient and effective work habits
  • Availability during the business day (Central Time Zone)
  • Must be native US resident and have a solid grasp on American culture
