Looking For Health and Fitness Writers For Ongoing Work
My Phenom Fitness
About the role
Thanks for showing interest in being a writer for us at My Phenom Fitness.
We are looking for 1-2 writers to write content - 2-4 articles/month on an ongoing basis, and would love for you to be apart of our mission of helping people improve their health and fitness through high quality content.
My Phenom Fitness was my passion project back in college about 10 years ago now. At the time, I got really into health and fitness while playing for ASU's men's collegiate basketball team, and would write and make workout videos in my free time.
I stopped working on it for nearly a decade, but have decided to revamp the site and bring on some awesome writers on board to help.
So, let's get started with what we're looking for.
To be considered for the position, we're looking for people who are knowledgeable about nutrition, fitness, health, etc, and want someone who can talk as an authority in the space.
In a world of boring, regurgitated content churned out by the Google machine, we're really wanting people who know their stuff, use evidence to back their claims, can speak from experience, and talk with authority (e.g. "listen to me because I know what I'm talking about")
Topics that would be great for you to be knowledgeable in:
- Supplements (think mushrooms, fish oil, creatine, maca powder, collagen, hemp, probiotics)
- All the different labels and what they mean: GMOs v Organic v Free Range v Grass fed v Wild Caught (etc)
- A wide range of workouts and their benefits (all claims will need to be researched and backed)
- Building your own workout gym at home
We are looking for content that provides real value to our readers, either from your personal experiences or through thorough research.
The content we will be producing here are not going to be like the generic top 10 articles you'll find on Healthline or Mayo Clinic, but rather evidence-based and in depth-articles for people who really want to be knowledgeable and not just keep up with the fads.
I can't stress this part enough. While we don't expect you to know everything about every subject, we expect our writers to be able to fill in the gaps with research/studies when needed.
If you have a background, such as a nutrition degree or personal training certification, that would be great.
If not, but rather you're a health nerd who can easily describe complex subjects with a wide breadth of knowledge and lives the lifestyle, that works too.
If you feel you are knowledgeable and interested in writing about one of the topics listed and not all, please do apply. We are open to hiring multiple writers who would specialize in different topics.
Our writers are expected to deliver pieces of content between 1500 and 2500 words and are paid proportionally to the amount of content that’s asked from them.
To apply, please include the following in your proposal:
- Your experience and knowledge base in the niche
- Links to posts you’ve written into the niche that are already published
- Links to your most active social profiles
- Your awesome personality
Please list your desired rate of pay (on a per word basis)
Also, use the word “raisin” somewhere in the first line of your proposal so we know you read the entire job post
Looking forward to seeing your proposals.
