Copyeditor Proofreader

As a copyeditor/proofreader with the Bookshelf, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your craft to technical content ranging from short-format articles and blog posts for the web to full-length paperbacks and everything else in between.

For this role, you don’t have to be a programmer yourself, but having a strong background in copyediting and proofreading non-fiction content is a must.

For the most part, we follow the rules set out in the latest edition of the CMOS, but we’ll also supply you with word lists and an in-house style guide that outlines any deviations.

While we prefer candidates who have experience editing books and journal-length articles, please don’t hesitate to apply if you only have experience with one or the other.
